Taipei is a regular stop for Mandopop stars, K-pop and J-pop tours and Western acts, and it has a venue for every size of show: a 40,000-seat dome, a classic arena, a purpose-built pop music center and a string of live houses that hold a few hundred to a couple of thousand. All but one of the venues below are in the city, next to an MRT station.
Tickets for nearly all of them are sold on local platforms. Our guide to buying tickets as a foreigner covers how to sign up and pay.

Taipei Dome
- Capacity 40,000 seats
- Address No. 515, Sec. 4, Zhongxiao E. Rd., Xinyi District
- MRT Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Station (Blue Line, BL17) or Taipei City Hall Station (Blue Line, BL18)
The Taipei Dome (臺北大巨蛋) is the city's biggest venue, an indoor stadium for pro baseball and the largest concerts. It sits between two Blue Line stations, with Songshan Cultural and Creative Park next door.
Getting out after a show. Forty thousand people leave at once, so expect queues at the MRT. The Dome runs free shuttle buses during events only, with times set for each event: from the Zhongxiao East Road side to Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT, Gongguan MRT and Taipei Main Station, and from the Guangfu South Road side to Songshan Airport, Songshan Station and Taipei 101/World Trade Center. Taxi queues are on B1 of the office building and B3 of the mall building. From Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Station the last trains leave at 00:22 toward Dingpu (through Taipei Main Station) and 00:57 toward Nangang Exhibition Center, every day of the week.
Good to know: the Dome has 60 lockers near the B1 entrances at Gates 2, 3 and 4: small ones (up to a 20-inch case) cost NT$40 for 3 hours and large ones (up to 29 inches) NT$60. Food stalls inside during concerts are run by each event's organizer.
Taipei Arena
- Capacity About 15,000 for sports; about 13,000 for a central-stage concert, 11,000 with the stage at one end
- Address No. 2, Sec. 4, Nanjing E. Rd., Songshan District
- MRT Taipei Arena Station (Green Line, G17), Exit 2
Taipei Arena (臺北小巨蛋) opened on December 1, 2005, on the site of the old municipal baseball stadium, and it is still the classic big-concert venue in town. Exit 2 of Taipei Arena Station brings you straight to it. It also has a public ice rink in the annex.
Getting out after a show. The MRT is right there. From Taipei Arena Station the last trains leave at 00:05 toward Xindian and 00:52 toward Songshan. The last trains that connect to the Red, Orange, Brown and Blue lines leave around 00:05, and the last connection for the Circular Line can be as early as 23:23, so check the station board on the way in. The arena's own car park fills up early during big events, and the arena asks fans to come by public transport.
Taipei Music Center
- Capacity Concert Hall about 5,000; four live houses from 200 to 1,600; outdoor stage about 3,000
- Address No. 99, Sec. 8, Civic Blvd., Nangang District
- MRT Kunyang Station (Blue Line, BL21), Exit 4, then about 600 m (8 minutes) east
The Taipei Music Center (臺北流行音樂中心) is the city's home for pop music: a mid-sized Concert Hall designed for music, four live houses in the Industry Zone, an outdoor stage and a Culture Hall that is Taiwan's first exhibition space devoted to music. Legacy also runs a venue here, Legacy TERA. You can also walk from Nangang Station (MRT, Taiwan Railway and High Speed Rail) in about 11 minutes along Civic Boulevard.
Getting out after a show. From Kunyang Station the last train back toward the city center (direction Dingpu) leaves at 00:15, and the last one toward Nangang Exhibition Center at 01:05.
Zepp New Taipei
- Capacity 2,245 standing (1,871 on the floor, 374 upstairs); 1,025 with chairs
- Address 8F, Honhui Plaza, No. 3, Sec. 4, Xinbei Blvd., Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City
Zepp New Taipei, run by Japan's Zepp live hall chain, is on the eighth floor of the Honhui Plaza mall (宏匯廣場) in Xinzhuang, New Taipei City. Zepp's own page lists only the address, not the transit, so plan your route on Google Maps before you go and allow extra time to get back into central Taipei. Lockers cost NT$50 (small) or NT$100 (medium and large), and drinks at the bar can be bought with cash.
Legacy Taipei and Legacy MAX
- Legacy Taipei 1,000 standing; Huashan 1914 Creative Park, No. 1, Sec. 1, Bade Rd.
- MRT Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station (Blue Line, BL14), Exit 1, about 3 minutes; or Shandao Temple Station (Blue Line, BL13), Exit 6, about 5 minutes
- Legacy MAX 6F, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi A11, No. 11, Songshou Rd.; Taipei City Hall Station (Blue Line, BL18), Exit 3, about 3 minutes
Legacy Taipei (Legacy Taipei 音樂展演空間) has been at Huashan 1914 since 2009, in Hall 5 of the old complex: a flat, pillar-free standing floor with an 8 m ceiling. The same company runs Legacy MAX in a Xinyi department store, the small Legacy mini @ amba in Ximending, and Legacy TERA at Taipei Music Center.
Billboard Live Taipei
Billboard Live Taipei is a seated live music club for 288 people on the 7th floor of ATT 4 FUN, No. 12, Songshou Road in Xinyi. It sits in the Xinyi shopping district between Taipei City Hall Station (Blue Line, BL18) and Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station (Red Line, R03).
The live houses
For a smaller, cheaper night, Taipei's live houses put on local and touring bands. Two long-running ones:
- The Wall (這牆音樂藝文展演空間). A basement club at B1, No. 200, Sec. 4, Roosevelt Rd., in the Gongguan student district by National Taiwan University. MRT: Gongguan Station (Green Line, G07). The last trains from Gongguan leave at 00:18 toward Songshan and 00:59 toward Xindian.
- Riverside Live House (西門紅樓展演館). At the Red House in Ximending, No. 177, Xining S. Rd. MRT: Ximen Station (Blue Line, BL11; Green Line, G12).
